Nepal’s ancient history, rich mix of cultures, languages and religions and its distinctive art and architecture offer a rewarding tapestry to explore. Hinduism and Buddhism are ever present and the pantheon of gods and goddesses inhabit countless stupas and monasteries: depicting the deep and abiding faith of the people.
The Himalayan scenery and the diversity of forest and farmland in the middle hills and dusty lowlands add attraction to every journey.
This 5 days Nepal tour, confined to the Kathmandu Valley, will introduce you to our world.
The city has five world heritage sites: the pilgrimage sites of the Swayambhunath Hindu Temple (Monkey Temple); the world’s largest stupa at the Buddhist temple of Bouddhanath; the Shiva Temple and Crematorium at Pashupatinath; the architecturally rich Patan Durbar Square and Kathmandu’s Durbar Square (Freak Street) where we visit the Kumari (living goddess).
The rural town of Kirtipur, shows different cultural traditions. Khokana is an important agricultural region, producing rice, mustard seeds for oil and market gardens. At Bungamati we explore the skilled work in stone and wood of the Newari people.
Our Nepal budget tour package also visits the old city of Bhaktapur, whose Durbar Square is free of traffic and a delight to explore.
